Found new seat covers but they use velcro to secure I think they are the ones that go over the existing seats is the any reason why the old covers cannot be removed and the covers be secured with hog-rings..........? Seat covers are by TMI....

TMI is one of the top VW interior upholstery suppliers.

I used them for my seat covers.

Front




Try J-Bugs for your covers. These are the ones that go on in place of the stock covers and attach with hog rings, instead of just over the old seats with Velcro.
